seven sisters

Pleiades Birth & Wellness draws inspiration from the ancient myth of the Pleiades, also known as the Seven Sisters, a cluster of stars that have guided travelers and inspired stories across cultures for millennia. Just as the stars of the Pleiades shine brightly in the night sky, illuminating paths and providing direction, our mission is to guide, support, and empower parents through the transformative journey of childbirth.

In mythology, the Seven Sisters are often associated with strength, femininity, and connection. Each sister represents a unique aspect of womanhood—courage, love, nurturing, wisdom, resilience, protection, and intuition. At Pleiades Birth & Wellness, we believe that every woman embodies these qualities, and our role is to help you discover and celebrate your inner goddess, just as the Seven Sisters have been celebrated for centuries.

Our services are designed to nurture and empower you, providing the support and knowledge you need to navigate your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience with confidence. We honor the diverse journeys of every parent, offering a safe and welcoming space where you can find community, strength, and the care you deserve.

Just as the Pleiades have been a guiding light for many, Pleiades Birth & Wellness is here to be your guiding light in the birth journey, helping you feel connected, celebrated, and empowered every step of the way.

About Celina

I believe in birth as a transformative rite of passage. One that deserves access to the care team and community you need in order to have the birth and postpartum experience you want. I feel a profound calling to stand as a pillar of support during this time of courage, resilience, and vulnerability. As a birth and postpartum doula, my goal is to provide continuous compassionate care and informational support in order to listen and guide you in making informed, empowered decisions. My support is rooted in developing a relationship with you from the moment you meet, curating my support to meet your specific needs as things unfold. I am focused on your physical and emotional needs and wellness from pregnancy to postpartum, your community, and your dignity and respect. I believe that the power of feeling in control of your body helps create a safe, loving, and memorable birth and postpartum experience. This drives me to help you become your own best advocate so that your needs are met and your voices are heard, and to ensure everyone on your birth team is supportive and united around your needs.

My approach is thoughtful, intuitive and holistic, with an emphasis on advocating for your needs. I enjoy helping birthing people and their families develop a birth and postpartum plan that feels true to who they are, and look for opportunities to create an environment that feels calm, comforting, safe, and full of joy. Throughout your pregnancy and labor, I combine pain management techniques, massage, breathing techniques, labor positioning, and emotional support. During your time together, I will guide you in exploring your birth preferences while also holding space for your feelings and exploring what the unknown elements of birth might look like. My postpartum support provides you continuity of care that extends beyond birth with  each visit designed to leave you feeling rested and nourished. These visits allow time to help integrate you and your baby into “new normal”, and provide comfort and postpartum recovery. I'll cook for you, offer newborn care, provide educational and community resources, and actively listen.

Childbirth is a unique experience for everyone. I aim to be a grounding presence, a sense of calmness and encouragement, and a trusted member of your care team. This story belongs to you and I would be honored to celebrate and support you in navigating this incredible chapter in your lives.

I was born in Central California where my family makes olive oil. I moved to Portland in 2015 to pursue an MFA in Collaborative Design where I studied third spaces and fostering community through interdisciplinary learning and sharing. I have a constant need to be creating and doing things with my hands, whether it’s working in my garden, making pasta from scratch, working on an embroidery or painting project, quilting, or building a coop for my ducks. I am inspired by rituals, nature, travel, our quest for personal growth and freedom, and how we create personal meaning and a sense of belonging to the greater whole. My self-care includes candlelit baths, trail rides on horseback, a juicy book, dancing to records, and camping with my husband and our dog.
